JONES WAS THE NAVIGATOR AND CAPTURED. THE AIRCRAFT COMMANDER, 1LT. RAYMOND H. TOWNSEND JR., PERISHED BY STAYING ON BOARD THE AIRCRAFT TO MAINTAIN LEVEL PITCH AND ROLL SO THE CREW COULD ESCAPE. THE AIRCRAFT EXPLODED BEFORE HE COULD GET OUT. FIVE LOST, FIVE CAPTURED.
American Army Attack Aviator. Over 2600 hours in the AH-64D Apache Helicopter. Currently a Standardization Instructor Pilot in the Active Army.
